Paolo Accadia

Paolo Accadia is a fishery economist with more than 20 years of professional experience. He works for NISEA since 2013. He worked for more than ten years for IREPA (Economic Research Institute for Fishery and Aquaculture) first as researcher and then director of the research unit. He was also research associate at CEMARE, Centre for the Economics and Management of Aquatic Resources, University of Portsmouth (UK).

He has a long experience in socio-economic analysis of Italian and Mediterranean fisheries. In the last years, his research activities have been mainly directed to the development of bio-economic models and the evaluation of management measures for the fishing sector. He has been involved in several research projects and studies funded by the Italian Government and the European Commission. He collaborated in several EU funded projects, like BEMMFISH (Bio-economic modelling of Mediterranean fisheries), SOCIOEC (Socio Economic effects of management measures of the future CFP) and MINOUW.

Loretta Malvarosa

Loretta Malvarosa is a fishery economist with more than 20-years of professional experience on the national and international field. She works for NISEA since 2013. She worked for more than ten years for IREPA (Economic Research Institute for Fishery and Aquaculture) as senior researcher. She has a long experience in the collection and analysis of socio-economic data of Italian and Mediterranean fisheries.

She is mainly specialized in the collection and analysis of data for the fishery and the fish processing sectors, in the evaluation of the economic performances of the fishery fleets, in impact assessment analysis, value chain analysis. She is, involved, since 2005, in the Italian National Programmes for the collection, management and use of data in the fisheries sector. Since 2000, she has been involved in several EU funded projects under the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes (SOCIOEC, COBECOS, PECHDEV, FISHREG) and under H2020 projects (SUCCESS). Since 2009 to 2019 she has been member of the Scientific, Technical and Economic committee for Fisheries, consultancy body of the European Commission (DGMARE) and since 2019 she chairs chaired the sub-group working on the EU report for the fish processing sector.

Rosaria Felicita Sabatella

Rosaria Felicita Sabatella is senior fishery economist with 24 years of experience. She is specialized in marine resource economics and her recent researches have focused on fishing effort management, national and local management plans, socio-economic analysis.

She has been involved in technical assistance to regional and national public administration and in the drafting of documentation provided by European Commission regulations, with particular attention to fishery management plans. As far as the statistics production activity, since 1996 she has been involved in the collection, processing and analysis of data related to Italian fishing fleet. She was leader of WP on socio economic data in the Italian Work Plan for the collection, management and use of data in the fisheries sector (Reg. UE 2017/1004) from 2017 to 2020. She has a consolidated experience in the analysis of socio-economic aspects of Italian and Mediterranean fisheries. She has taken part in a number of STECF working groups of the European Commission and in the Italian delegation in the Fisheries Committee of the OCDE.
